Great location with only short walk to Ueno stations: subway, Keisei Skyliner, and jr.
Hotel sign is only in Japanese and hotel should provide detailed map. I spent 1 hour walking to find this hotel.

Location, less than 5 mins to Ueno station (Exit 2) and transport to Narita in 45 mins with Keisei Skyliner. Wireless internet was available in room. Staff helpful, albeit with limited English. Stay if you are looking somewhere with private facilities for 1-2 nights and want somewhere cheap close to transport.
Grubby, carpets dirty. Curfew between 12:30 and 6am. Can't take overseas or mobile phone calls in hotel.

Very good location. Short walking distance from Ueno Station and the station serves Metro and jr transport facility to other places. Quiet location, off the main road, yet convenience stores and grocers are close.
The main hotel staff (old lady, owner?) is inflexible and rude. I left my partner to wait at the reception (we had 4 large baggages) while I tried to get a cab at the main road. The old lady tried asked my partner to wait out in the cold. Our request to leave our lugguge at the reception for a while was turned down. A good stay if not for the reception staff (just that old lady).

Nice location, near tokyo metro and jr ueno station,Kesei ueno station(skyliner) -5mins by walking Also, near the zoo and ueno onshi koen.
You have to go back to hotel before 00:30 Sometimes it might limit your plan. I booked for two non- smoking room But it's smell really bad. Also, in the shower room, it not clean. (sorry for my poor English, But I hope my message will help you guys for selecting a good hotel.)

Room was clean, had en-suite bathroom.
Old fashioned facilities, not many allowances for English-speakers, and they won't hold your luggage after you've checked out.
